I love the way you write (“engineering degree with a minor in masochism” and “the bomb planted on my girlfriend” are both great turns of phrase) and it’s refreshing to have a story that ends with, essentially, the good guys winning. I’m actually really liking this, very interesting. Maybe he was just into some creative writing? I think what you did (RPing the sassy bartender) was fantastic and I would have died laughing if one of my friends was being that bit of a dumbass.
