Men’s dress shirts are measured in two places for size: neck size and sleeve length. The clerk in the store can measure you, or a friend with a tape measure can measure you. To measure around the neck, measure where the shirt collar will go, below the larynx (Adam’s apple). Measure as tight as you want the shirt collar to go if you’re wearing a necktie. To measure the sleeve length, measure from the end of your shoulder bone down to where you want the shirt cuff to be, usually just below the wristwatch. Shirt sizes are quoted neck size first, then sleeve length. So a 15 - 32 shirt would be a 15″ neck and a 32″ sleeve.
