It never crossed my mind that I would need to be taught in this profession how to care for myself! It’s definitely not about the money. Frankly, the money isn’t THAT good. 13 hour days with mandatory overtime doesn’t leave much room for self-happiness. Your joy has to come in the service of others because you’re going to have to work hard to make the time & find the energy to find pleasure in activities outside of work. <<<~~~ In my experience anyway.
