Why are some teams boosted off their records but other teams aren’t? Why are the Jets so much higher than Buffalo despite having the same record? If Carolina is boosted for their record then you’d assume it would transfer to other teams as well and some would move up and down more than they have. Carolina is leading the Metro right now. Whether the Canes keep up said momentum or regress is undetermined right now.

I’m a ranker as well. Spread Love It’s The Nashville Way Shirt. I rank heavily on Last 10 and “strength of schedule” and like “intensity of wins”. I always want my rankings to reflect stuff that is going on right now. If the 31st ranked team in the standings just won 6 games in a row, then they should be ranked pretty high. If I wanted to see them at the bottom I’d just sort the standings by points. Plus the first few weeks are pretty rough. Tampa has only played 3 games so far but Carolina has played 6 so they’ve had more stuff to sway rankings. Or like in Florida’s case they’ve lost all three of their games and that’s all I’ve got to go on. I agree with you about preseason being pointless and not worth factoring into rankings before the start of a season, but I’d disagree with rankings before the start of the season is useless.
