Biden has exceeded my expectations

Biden has exceeded my expectations. But then again, my expectations weren’t that high to begin with. I expected Biden to be a president who knows what he is doing, who has his heart in the right place and knows how to rebuild this country, but ultimately is an ineffectual president whether due to his age or his more traditional methods of doing things, or even both. Let’s also not forget the fact that Biden’s predecessor set the bar pretty fucking low. Trump was so bad, he made Bush Jr. seem like a decent president. But Biden moved quickly. I mean, DAMN! Even for a man half his age, he moved quickly. Within the first few weeks, more than half of the damage caused by the Trump administration had either been fixed or was on the path to being fixed. Biden nearly brought the COVID-19 virus to its knees, and if it wasn’t for the sudden curveball that is the Delta Variant, his administration would no doubt have put an end to this pandemic by now. But it’s still early. Joe Biden has more than three years to show us what he’s fully capable of. I like him so far, and I hope he keeps up the good work.

Biden does not have the authority to enact and enforce a ban. The CDC didn’t have the authority to order the ban in the first place. The courts just let the ban expire and gave Congress a month to decide what to do while giving advice as to who has authority to enact a ban. There is 30 to 40 billion dollars of rent assistance that has gone unclaimed. People facing eviction should be applying for rent assistance.
