We rehomed some of the kittens and kept others. The ones who remained with us all had a friendly relationship with their ‘dog mom’, but one in particular was absolutely devoted to her. Grizzly practically worshipped that dog and she tolerated behavior from him that she would not have put up with from the others. Such as his habit of climbing on top of her head and face to take a nap. Even as a full grown 15lb brute of a cat, she allowed him to do this.

When you have to go to the vet, the first thing is to set the carrier out early and open it up. You want to remain as calm as possible. If you are nervous about going to the vet, your cat will feel it. If you think you will have trouble getting her into the carrier, you may very well have trouble. When it is time to go, give the command and put treats in the carrier. Close and lock the door. Talk to your cat all the way to the vet. Figure out how your cat is the most comfortable in your car. Some cats want it dark. You can cover the carrier with a light cloth. Some cats like to see their humans. Turn the screen so she can see you. It is good to buckle the carrier in if you can.

A person who adopts a dog into their family needs to realize that it is the responsibility of that person to provide for that animal for the rest of its life! That means high-quality dog food, cool freshwater always available and changed a couple of times a day to keep it fresh and cool, visits to the Vet to get puppy shots, then booster shots as needed, and wellness check-ups to be sure your puppy is growing up healthy and happy! Dogs do not do well-eating people's food because we cook with fats, spices, etc. and it’s usually not good for dogs or cats.

You can have kibble out so the dog can snack on it if it gets hungry in the middle of the day, but two meals are much better for their digestive system and just like you, your dog needs to eat more than just once a day to be at its best health! In return, the pet will give you companionship, unconditional love, and a lot of happy years as part of the family, if you care for it properly!
