At least half of the country would see it as a totally partisan move and the republic would probably not survive. He has not gotten the infrastructure deal. Schumer finally got enough people to vote to recommend sending it to committee; we still don’t have a bill on paper that can be debated or voted on yet. Also, it was Pelosi and Schumer who slashed and burned bipartisanship. Trump tried to work with them, but they refused. They would go to the White House whenever they wanted to put on a great show about storming out and making wild accusations on TV, but they refused to work with Trump and the Republicans on anything since the Obama administration really. (Hence why Obama stopped the process of going to Congress to get laws, and just started creating them by edict via his “pen and phone.”)
