Judas betrayed Jesus by telling the officials where Jesus would be that night. If you read the account of the Last Supper, Judas was there, and then slipped out. He slipped out to tell the Pharisees who were going to pay him where Jesus would be. Jesus tells Judas to go and do what you have to do before he leaves. None of the other disciples knew what Judas was going to do, but Jesus did know. He allowed Judas to carry out his plan, because Jesus knew his death was appointed, and that it was time.
