So, it will be difficult to get 5 medals now, since most will be seeded out of the top 4. Panghal will get a bye and maybe even Simranjit too. It might be tougher for the others but I still believe in these two as well as Vikas and Mary. Manish, Ashish, Satish Lovlina and Pooja can spring a surprise but they might have to box every round as if they were losing 20–18. Field Hockey- I will defer to someone who knows more, but the men do seem primed for a podium finish, provided they do what coach Reed wants them to do even if they qualified a bit late. They did well in the Pro League before it got postponed, winning against some hockey powers and putting up good work even in defeat. The women are not so sturdy but I am hoping coach Marijne can work something up; I simply can’t make out how good their competition will be.
Both the team’s should have little issue with the groups they have put in.
