A cat chooses an owner. If the cat does not want to leave your house he has chosen to live with you as the cat scenes won't do any harm to him/her. It could also be that the cat needs help in some sort. And he is asking for help. But as somebody else said, you have a cat now as a pet. If you intend to adopt him/her as the cat clearly adopted you do go by a vet to check for his health if he lets you pick him up and such. Do get the cat spayed/neutered so the cat can't reproduce. This is better for a cat's health and there are already too many stray cats. Plus if the cat has any disease like aids (this disease can't be transferred to humans) which they can give to other cats it's more terrible. And if they are spayed/neutered it will take away their physical desire for reproduction. And no it's not unnatural to get them spayed/neutered. It's better for their health. Less chances of other diseases too.
